Food Trucks of Thanks

Food Trucks of Thanks are back! As part of our awesome GovLoop community, you're probably used to getting tons of resources and trainings for free. And now, along with our partner Cloudera, we're adding lunch to that list!

Join us and your public service peers Thursday, Sept. 19 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. ET in Washington, D.C. for Food Trucks of Thanks! We know how hard you work in government and we want to do our part to say thank you and that we appreciate everything you do.

We'll have four different food trucks serving from two different locations in Washington, D.C.:

  • Federal Triangle: BBQ Bus and DC Empanadas
  • Judiciary Square: Peruvian Brothers and Swizzler

All you need to do to claim your lunch is fill out the form to the right. You will receive a voucher via email that you must bring with you on September 19 or present on your phone to claim your lunch. This is a first-come, first-served event so we suggest getting in line early!

We will email you the morning of Thursday, Sept. 19 with the exact locations of the food trucks, as well as share on Twitter (@GovLoop).

Your Food Truck Options:

Federal Triangle:

BBQ Bus Menu
Pick 1 entree (each option includes 1 beverage):

  • Smoky pulled pork sandwich and 1 side
  • Spicy chicken jalapeno sandwich and 1 side
  • Pulled pork, pulled chicken or spare ribs picnic plate with 2 sides

Side dish choices:

  • BBQ Bus beans
  • Vinaigrette slaw
  • Collard greens
  • Fresh watermelon
  • Kettle Chips


DC Empanadas Menu
Pick 3 empanadas (each option includes 1 beverage):

  • El Toro: chipotle beef, onion, garlic, black beans, cheddar cheese and corn
  • Karate Kid: pork and fresh veggies tossed in a sesame teriyaki sauce with a kick
  • The Badass: buffalo chicken and blue cheese
  • El Mariachi: chipotle chicken, corn, cilantro, green onions and tomato
  • Veggie Nirvana: potato, onion, garlic, peas, tomato, cilantro and Indian spices
  • El Greco: spinach, feta cheese and onion

Pick 1 side salad:

  • Southwest Quinoa salad with roasted red peppers, green onions, cilantro, fresh corn and black beans in a chipotle vinaigrette
  • Mediterranean Cucumber salad with English cucumbers, tomato, onion and feta cheese in a mint vinaigrette

Judiciary Square:

Peruvian Brothers Menu
Pick 1 meat platter (each option includes 1 beverage):

  • Asado (beef)
  • Pollo (chicken)
  • Butifarra (pork loin)
Pick 2 sides:

  • Wild rice
  • Quinoa salad
  • Mixed greens
  • Fried plantains

Swizzler Menu
Pick 1 hot dog, served on a brioche bun with fries (each option includes 1 beverage):

  • Babe Froman: cucumber-herb relish, diced onion and yellow mustard
  • Feast Mode: caramelized onions, whipped goat cheese, candied jalapenños, and black pepper honey
  • Plain Jane: Veggie Dog

Parking: There are several public parking garages available on the same block as the event space as well as metered parking. Parking is not included in your event registration.
