Dynamic Innovation in Government

Right now the Census Bureau is gearing up for the 2020 Census where it estimates it will intake data on more than a billion individuals over the course of the year. But the Census Bureau isn’t the only data-driven agency around; the Federal Aviation Administration is trying to better track nation-wide flight patterns, arrival and departures times, and weather abnormalities.

For decades, the way the government has stored all this data worked for individual missions, but failed to protect valuable data sets and fully integrate data sets across an agency. However, new ways of thinking about data ingestion and integration services allow agencies to rapidly store more data in lakes for deeper analytics. Data lakes are a type of storage repository that holds a vast amount of raw data it its native format.

So how does your agency take advantage of these solutions? Join CSRA, AWS and GovLoop on Tuesday, October 24th from 2-3pm ET/11am-Noon PT, as we discuss how agencies are changing the way they think about data storage.

You will learn:

  • Where current gov data storage is failing and how new solutions can help.
  • How Amazon Web Services is transforming the way the government thinks about data storage and integration.
  • The biggest challenges agencies face in implementing some of these new solutions.
